Volunteers from all over the world have joined us over the past 50 years bringing a wealth of experience and diversity to our family. As a volunteer you would work and live as part of a team of professionals essentially providing care for some very disabled people. Our volunteers must be ready to give intimate personal care such as bathing, toileting, dressing and feeding. Others of the family may require prompts and limited support to enable them to learn how and continue to care for themselves in their daily tasks of personal hygiene.
Living together we join in with all the tasks associated with running a big family home. The cooking, cleaning, washing and ironing...all those jobs every family does.
Ideally we like our overseas volunteers to come for one year, although we may accept volunteers for a minimum stay of 6 months. However we do also welcome a few volunteers to join us for a month to six weeks stay during their summer vacations.
Volunteering at Holf is a very rewarding experience. Volunteers are a vital part of our family and we offer opportunities to become involved in various aspects of our families lives, such as care giving, group activities, outings, music as well as DIY, gardening, home management and administration.
So.. If you are considering a gap year, possibly a career break or have taken early retirement and want to get involved in the lives of our amazing family of children, adolescents and adults with special needs.
Then we could be for you.
